who benefits

All skin types, even very sensitive skin.

Vitamin C has numerous known benefits including collagen synthesis, powerful antioxidant properties, cellular protection from UV damage, wound healing, skin brightening, inhibition of DNA damage, and improvement of acneic conditions.

  • There are several disadvantages of using pure ascorbic acid which is why several derivatives are commonly used.
  • The main two disadvantages are stability and bioavailability.
  • Revision skincare uses the most technologically advanced Vitamin C derivative available. You will visibly see the difference in your face within one week.
  • The best Vitamin C technology originates from Asia and more specifically from Japan.
  • Asians are prone to uneven pigmentation issues with age and have used Vitamin C and it's derivatives to remedy this condition.
  • The version of Vitamin C used in Revision's line in Tetra hexyl decl Ascorbate.
  • This very valuable form of Vitamin C has been shown to have extraordinary benefits over the topical use of pure ascorbic acid.

Limitations of Ascorbic Acid

  • Ascorbic acid is very beneficial, effective and functional when it is in the lower layers of the epidermis and dermis.
  • Ascorbic acid is not very bioavailable (usable to the skin) when applied topically.
  • Ascorbic acid is and acid and is rejected by the skin topically because of its natural barrier defense mechanisms.

What is Tetra hexyl decyl ascorbate?

  • Tetra hexyl decl Ascorbate is a completely stabilized and very bioavailable form of Vitamin C.
  • The compound is comprised of a natural lipid from the palm tree bonded to an ascorbic acid molecule.
  • The skin is a barrier. Its function is to protect the body from foreign substances.
  • The skin is comprised of a hydrophilic (water-loving) and lipo philic (oil-loving) components.  It is most accepting of mixtures of oil and water.  Tetra hexyl decyl ascorbate is a mixture of oil and water components and is more readily used by the skin.
  • Once applied to the skin, Tetra hexyl decyl ascorbate penetrates into the epidermis and dermis where it is enzymatically cleaved into pure ascorbic acid and the moisturizing palm oil derivative.
  • Ascorbic acid is recognized and is very functional once it is in the epidermis and dermis of the skin.
  • Numerous studies have proven the ability of Tetra hexyl decyl ascorbate to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, brighten the skin, increase the skin's moisture level, reduce the appearance of hyper pigmentation, mitigate redness and decrease the size and number of acne lesions.
  •  This unique Vitamin C technology is used in the following Revision products: Vitamin C Lotion 15% & 30%
